Our weekend
So we just got home from a little getaway trip to Nashville and I could hardly sleep b/c my mind is so full now. We went with John and Hannah Wallace to see our other friend Ashley Hightower who is finishing her clinicals in PT School and I was excited but I had no other reason of wanting to go than to see her and be with our friends. I LOVE it when God does this though. On Saturday we headed to this little place called "Franklin" to shop and look for antiques, little did I know that Jay and I would fall in love with everythiing about it. If you look on my Facebook, you'll see pics but they can't really capture it. The buildings there are so old but so modern at the same time, the boutiques are adorable and the people working in them are so sweet, the restaurants are so diverse and the people who live there are all so different from the typical "Americans"...they all look so active and healthy which is the lifestyle that Jay and I LOVE but people give us such a hard time for it but there, its just the way they live. ANYWAY, I think I've made it clear that I looooooove my job but it's not just what I do, its who i do it for and with that makes all the difference. Amy and Harold Head are the most honest, genuine, self sacrificing, encouraging, creative, brilliant people that I have ever seen in business and they have helped bring out a part of me that I hadn't fed before. I have become so much of a better person...I have been using the abilties God has given me and before, I hadn't even acknowledged that I had them. I love people in such a different way, I find compassion for complete strangers. Its amazing the love you can send through your fingertips when you're just putting moisturizer on someone. I have been able to minister to people who have just lost a spouse or a child, people who have been diagnosed with a terminal disease, people who are hurting physically or spiritually...I feel drained at the end of the day but I've also never felt so full. Jay is insanely thrilled for me that I was lead to this job and he has over time fallen in love with the business of it too. We truly feel that we will have our own Amy Head Studio someday. We had no idea where though because I am such a Mississippi girl and he doesnt like change. I LOVE NYC and would love to open one there but Jay doesnt feel the same way and I know it doesnt feel right. We thought about Dallas after talking with our dear friends, Ethan and Emily but although we got really excited, it didnt feel "right" either. So we go to Tennessee with no intentions other than to see our friend and enjoy our getaway and end up getting "the feeling" when you know something is right. We were walking down Main St going in all the shops and loving the creativity of the store owners and we were getting to the end of a street when we saw a cute store sign and Hannah said she wanted to go in there. So we went in and I loved a painting and asked the owner if he could ship it but we started talking and stayed for about 30 minutes. He had been to seminary in MS and was a church planter for years then he and his wife settled in Franklin and decided to open this store. He talked about how Carrie Underwood was there for an hour the day before and Ashley Judd would walk in any minute and how cool the people are around and we just asked him some very straight forward questions about business and he gave us very straight forward answers. After walking out we KNEW God had sent us into that store and put that man there for a very exact reason. So along this whole time, our other friends have gotten a true urge to move there as well. Now, we are all such homey people who are attached to our MS roots and we have all had a fire lit under us. Jay and I are very cautious and never in a hurry when it comes to things like this. We know from everything we've experienced in the past that Gods timing is PERFECT and that we will will KNOW when that time is right. Logistically it won't be for another year or two and this might all change and we will be ready for that as well but for now, we are so excited for another "reveleation" from our sweet Leader.

Gotta start somewhere..
Agh!! i can't believe I am entering this world but I have to admit, it is a great way to keep in touch with friends and family near and far. It's so easy to get by with just a "Heeeeeeey, how are y'all????" (in a charming Southern accent of course) but how much sweeter would it be to know how your loved are really doing? Knowing how to specifically pray for them and seeing whats going on in their lives. So here we are, Jay and I, to share our lives with you. Let us catch you up to date...we met in Deland, Florida in 2004 and were married 9 months later. It all happened so fast, but we wouldnt have had it any other way. We've been married about 3 1/2 years now and moved to my hometown of Madison, Mississippi just over 2 years ago. We love our life here. We serve in a truly amazing church and have the dearest friends we could ask for. Our only baby, is our maltese Daisey and she is all we need...for now. :) I think I'm the only person I know that LOVES their job. I am a makeup artist and it's the most fun, rewarding career and I work for the most inspiring people. Jay is so incredibly talented and I am in awe or his talents and creativity. He is an artist, creator and craftsman all in one.
I think we will use this blog to share thoughts and stories and adventures as we are inspired to. We look forward to sharing our lives with you. Stay tuned....
